NewDay USA conducted a survey of veterans and active-duty service members to better understand what’s holding military families back from buying a home right now. Results show VA loan satisfaction is extremely high, but upfront cash needs like closing costs, inspections, appraisal fees, and earnest money still keep many eligible buyers on the sidelines, and misconceptions about VA loans remain widespread.
Neil Brooks, NewDay USA spokesperson, discussed why the industry has a role to play in closing the knowledge gap, how specialized VA lenders can often close on the same timeline (or faster) than conventional financing, and why removing upfront costs significantly increases purchase intent among non-homeowners.
